Maykel Moreno Abreu is a compassionate provider with a diverse background in healthcare. Born and raised in Cuba, Maykel’s passion for medicine was ignited when his mother became ill and witnessed first-hand what was missing in healthcare. He realized that he wanted to make a difference in people’s lives. After graduating from high school, Maykel’s journey to becoming a provider began at the University of Havana, where he earned his medical degree with his primary residency focused on Family Medicine.

Maykel has practiced medicine in several countries and his global experiences in the medical field have allowed him valuable insights into cultural nuances and patient-centered care. His dedication to improving healthcare led him to the United States, where he embarked on a multifaceted journey. In the US, Maykel’s passion for patient care led him to become a Paramedic, a Medical Assistant, and a Registered Nurse. He continued his passion and fulfilled his dreams by having a hands-on approach to patient care and became an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN). His comprehensive background allows him to approach patient care holistically and deliver individualized care for each of his patients.

Maykel’s greatest strengths are in prioritizing empathy, clear patient communication and most importantly his ability to listen to his patients. He believes that understanding each patients’ unique needs is essential to providing the quality care each patient deserves. He joined ClearMedica Medical Centers to deliver the highest level of care for his patients and their families.
